Fondazione Piemonte Innova in Amsterdam for AI4Citizens

From June 11th to 13th, Fondazione Piemonte Innova took part in the fourth Learning Visit of the European project AI4Citizens, hosted by the City of Amsterdam, together with colleagues from CSI Piemonte, the Piedmontese stakeholder involved in the initiative.

The visit focused on key topics such as data governance, digital ethics, smart cities, and citizens’ trust in automated systems. Three days of discussions, hands-on experiences and study visits provided participants with new tools, concrete insights and valuable connections to strengthen collaboration among European cities on the responsible and sustainable adoption of artificial intelligence in the public sector.

Among the most significant moments were workshops dedicated to exploring how to “unlock the AI potential” in European cities, featuring real examples of AI and IoT applications in public services and initiatives promoting citizen participation.

The participation of Fondazione Piemonte Innova and CSI Piemonte confirms Piedmont’s role as a reference region for the ethical, secure and inclusive adoption of AI in the public sector, and further strengthens ties with European partners in the project — who will meet again in Riga in September for the next stage of this shared learning journey.

A special thank you to the Amsterdam team for their warm hospitality, and to all partners of the AI4Citizens and Interreg Europe projects for making this valuable experience possible.
